CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Tasked with conducting strategic alliance for multiple Distribution Centers and developing subsequent business proposal to consolidate all DC’s. Designed highly automated materials handling system and facility expansion plan as well as performed as project manager for the above. Exceeded projected savings goals in facility, labor, transportation, on time delivery, and inventory carrying costs resulting in excess of $2 million in a calendar year.

Challenged with conducting a site appraisal and the design/implementation of the materials handling and storage systems. Led a project management team that reduced costs by 65% of then current 3PL provider. Asked and agreed to perform as interim Director of Operations. Drove backlog of orders 100% same day ship, improved inventory accountability from 88% to 99.8%, and re-negotiated freight expenses for a 14% savings.

Developed slotting process for high volume (10,000 orders/day) DC to monitor five major zone fast pick areas. Maximized order picking effectiveness, reduced labor requirements by more than 30%, and expanding order cut-off time by 3 hours leading to greater same day revenue recognition.

Stepped in as a Director of Operations, on a turn-around basis, while developing the functional specifications of a WMS system. Developed the metrics and executed change management towards “the perfect order.” Improved ship window from 1:30 to 4:00 PM, order integrity from 93% to 99.7% and inventory accuracy from 89% to 99.9% while providing for 32% increase in revenue with same hourly work force.

Led the Manufacturing/Distribution Strategic Planning Committee tasked with providing capacity for the global network consistent with cost and marketing presence. Responsible for the design and fit-out of all worldwide plants, including product to plant matrices. Reduced the incremental facility space plan from 30% to 17%, while demonstrating increased capacity for 2 year revenue plan of 45% while reducing materials handling labor in excess of 30% of plan.

Van Millwork – Director of Operations – Challenged with developing policy/procedures improving delivery quality. Also tasked with improving warehouse space utilization and overseeing development work with design/build firm for facility expansion.

Professional Salon Concepts – Director of Operations – Tasked with streamlining order process for efficiency and order integrity and to expand the order entry to ship window. Also was entrenched in the design/implementation of a new business software system.

Polymerics – VP Distribution Operations – Managed two DC’s, including start ups of both. Developed policies and procedures, budgets and implemented metrics driven bonus plan.

Entex: Designed and implemented advanced order picking system, including functional specifications of WMS and developed query reports for metrics and ongoing re-slotting process.

Diam: Project Manager/Senior Engineer to oversee the A&E/GC teams and internal manufacturing engineers to refurb a 560K sq.ft. facility and consolidate five plants.
